Dear All,
It gives me great pleasure to announce the official release of my new novella, fittingly on this inaugural World Adopt A Pelican Day.
Big big thank yous to everyone who made it possible…
Particularly, friends and family for ongoing support; the team at Troubador/Matador; and, to YOU the Substack community.
As a Christian writer, it took time to discern the necessary story and, by grace, to develop the matching vision, diligence and craft but, now complete, it actually feels pretty good merely being a servant who has done no more than their duty.
Adrian
All reviews (on Troubador, Amazon/Goodreads etc) gratefully received (except ones about delivery drivers or the neighbour’s aggressively hungry dog)…
First UK Amazon/Goodreads review received 19 July from Robin Price:
Adrian P. Conway is economical with his words but creates a big story. And I rather think this is just an acorn from which a mighty oak will one day grow.
Adjusting a template that once held Romeo And Juliet and Graham Greene's iconic Brighton Rock the author introduces Meteor.
The setting is the urban jungle of London. On these tough London estates you are either a gang member or a victim. There's not much in between.
The author creates a bleak, black and white landscape until Meteor finds Jaycee, and then fine, elegant brushstrokes and vibrant colours introduce them to Tate Britain. There's great skill in the literary technique: from Urban or Jamaican patois, to the profundity of tears spilled as pleasure boats passby, and the chilling inevitability of the denouement. A writer on the cusp of greatness.
Congrats, Adrian! Just grabbed my copy :-)
Looking forward to its arrival on the wings of DHL.
