Hey Reader Peeps
Wishing you a very happy Christmas and thanks for all your engagement with my fiction in 2023. Particular props to paid subscribers. I appreciate it’s more like supporting my writing journey than buying specific fiction, so I’m very grateful for your commitment. On this, singular thanks to perennial Founder Member Caroline (you know who you are) for being a modern version of the medieval Cardinal Patron.
It’s been some year in my tiny world, not least with the publication of a debut novella. I don’t think it has quite found equivalent ‘Swifties’ yet (no, not Jonathan), but rumblings are afoot. Special thanks to fellow Stackers
of Untaking and of The Problematic Pen for their reviews (here and here). One of my favourite things this year was a voice collab on Pooh Sticks with the actress, Katie Pattinson. Hopefully, more to come! In the spirit of Christmas, I’m making the story available until year end for new and nostalgic readers/listeners…
Another of my favourite things is
community engagement. Before writing here, I paid annually for my own website hosting, development software, security and analytics tools, and had to do all my own design and marketing. And had virtually zero engagement. Now that’s all largely taken care of… so I can concentrate on writing fiction. Happy days!I know not everyone likes to post comments and silent appreciation is as valuable as anything voiced. However, I’ve a big gob so definitely appreciate the many kind vocalisations here. Apart from the lovely folk already mentioned above, a big 2023 thanks goes to
for always taking considered time, and to for being a true indie writer stalwart. There’s lorry loads of everything else going on in 2024, but currently working up a range of story ideas and some added value material. Speaking of, here’s an international article by yours truly on the merits of just doing your own sweet thing… Novel or Novella?
May the Light that overcomes all darkness find a home in you this Christmas.
